VIDEO SHOOT !
thanks to everyone who expressed interest in participating in our music video shoot directed by lloyd kaufman! the day is just around the corner so here are all the details once more:
this saturday afternoon! 12/13 from 1pm-4pm
location: the airliner (2419 N Broadway , Los Angeles, CA 90031)and it's FREE for you and as many friends as you want to bring. that's right, no cost to participate....only your time and a piece of your SOUL !!!!!!!!!
what'll be going on:
the scene of the video you'll be participating in is "the show." we'll be on stage performing our song "midnight" (not really playing though, we'll be mimicking to a playback) and we need everyone in the audience to be getting into it, dancing, rocking out, etc. then, our two lead actors will be committing suicide with handguns, resulting in the band and some of the audience getting splattered with blood and brain matter. it's sugar based fake blood so it won't ruin your clothes....so dress your best. meaning dress like you're going out on the town with a significant other. look cool, nice, good, etc. that way, the blood looks more shocking on you. (and as fans of TROMA and lloyd kaufman know, the more provocative and/or crazy you look, the more likely you are to be more prominently featured) but we need all the people we can get in order to make it look like a fairly big show, so don't stress too much about wardrobe and just show up..... and bring friends!
we're having a wrap party later that night with lloyd, the crew, and cast. and beer. and cheap vodka (as per lloyd's request). all extras (or "actor persons" as they are known in TROMA land) who participate are welcome. we'll pass out the information on that at the shoot.

Las Vegas
my dad paid for a hotel room at the mgm grand for a weekend and said tyler and i could invite whoever. so the whole band rolled out to las vegas for two nights. here are some things i learned:
-you can get free drinks even if you are "playing" penny slots. by playing i mean sitting there not having any idea what the flashing lights and random numbers and symbols mean and being bored until your drink comes. nice.
-subway and del taco are delicious delicacies when all you normally eat is ramen noodles and food from the restaurant where you work.
-everyone in NTG is very uninterested in gambling. i guess i already knew that though. brian would probably like to try to beat the house at black jack, but he's broke like the rest of us. i did enjoy roulette with my dad though. i dont know how to play really, but he always gives me some quick guidlines as to what the fuck to do. he bet $20 for me and said i could keep whatever i happened to win. so, i won $65 via my don't-know-what-the-hell-is-going-on random strategy! i still couldn't make rent though.
-there are conflicting opinions within NTG about the involvement of aliens in the construction of the egyptian pyramids.
-pretty woman is the most retarded, boring, stupid, lame movie ever to be as successful as it was. and i only saw 15 minutes of it.
-klee irwin is EVERYWHERE.

RED WINE & JALEPENO CHEETOS
Lloyd Kaufman (of TROMA and TOXIC AVENGER fame and who is directing a video for us in december) was in LA for a week so we scheduled a meeting with him at his hotel in santa monica. it was surreal when he opened the door and let us in cheerfully and offered us wine and some fine hors'devors (no fuckin idea how you spell that dumb word) which consisted of jalepeno cheetos and other assorted chips. Lloyd rules, we fit well together. i never drink wine but i went for it. i also went for those jalepeno cheetos because i always see them at the store and i think to myself "those are probably pretty good" but i'm just not the kind of dude to buy a whole bag of cheetos and eat them all. the idea is kinda gross to me. so, this was my big chance! i had a handful and they were delicious. i had a few glasses of red, and then when that ran out, white wine. Lloyd is a hilarious old intelligent jew and i liked him a lot. we discussed the video and he approved of our choice for the female lead and then we headed for the beach (sans lloyd, he had other engagements) where we learned that the beach "closes" at a certain time. HOW CAN YOU CLOSE NATURE!??!!! the entrance to the parking lot was gated shut and the exit was guarded by those spikes in the ground that destroy your tires if you go the wrong way. but you see, we are awesome at life, so we used pieces of wood (which we had brought in the back of brian's truck to use to make a fire on the beach) to get all of our convoy's cars safely over the terrifying tire-destroyers. whats the expression? oh yeah - FUCK THE MAN. a quality evening.

NO MAS MIERCOLES
we'll be playing our last wednesday night show this coming wednesday October 1st. come celebrate with us! get a smoothie! or just drink beer but make sure ITS IN A WHITE STYROFOAM CUP! we'll be laying low for a while, but not entirely. we've got a show in November at the smell so watch out for that shit. cheers!

every single damn wednesday
we play every wednesday in echo park, california at a lil place called CAFE MARIPOSA. every wednesday in summer 2008. that's right! and every wednesday we have different special guests. it's always fun, its BYOB and all ages, which is always a huge plus. and after we play the night usually turns into a big hang sessions, jam session, smoke sessions, drink session, skate sessions, etc etc. come hang with us. its only three dollars.

hop on over to www.parkinglotdanceclub.com and check out the episode featuring yours truly. you can see us dancing, pelvic thrusting, and.....oh yeah- we stole cones from a utility truck and used them to block off Park street at the corner of Sunset and then dance around the confused motorists. hahahahahaha oh us crrrrazy texans.
